50 God-Tier Acting Moments Buried in Bad Movies

16. The Squad Has A Drink - Suicide Squad (2016)

Suicide Squad has got to be one of the best-acted bad movies ever made.

Cara Delevingne's performance as the lead villain is howlingly awful, and Jared Leto's Joker was pretty weak, but everyone else is legitimately pretty great - hell, even Jai Courtney is good in it.

This all comes through especially with this scene, where Task Force X has a drink in an abandoned bar and talks about their pasts. In general, it's a scene that feels like it came from a different, far better movie due to how much better the writing is here than anywhere else in the film, so the actors really get a chance to show off just how well-cast they actually were in these roles.

Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, and especially Jay Hernandez, whose character recounts how he accidentally killed his own family with his fire powers, are all nuanced, charismatic, and even quite affecting in this scene. These guys deserved so, so much better than the mostly lacklustre script they were saddled with, and it's a sad reminder of just what a missed opportunity Suicide Squad really was in so many departments.
