50 Huge Movie Characters That Were Completely Miscast

Love Actually is nothing short of a Christmas classic, and is likely one of the first films watched under a blanket on a cold December night with the tree up. It's certainly comforting, but that doesn't mean that there aren't some creepy moments.

Namely, one of the most iconic scenes of the whole thing, where Andrew Lincoln's Mark declares his love for Keira Knightley's Juliet via the medium of cue cards, while her husband, who happens to be Mark's best friend, is just in the other room. Off the back of recording nothing but Juliet's face on her wedding video, yeah, this is a bit weird.

It only gets weirder when you consider the casting of Knightley herself. In the same year as skyrocketing to stardom in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Knightley was yet another big name in the list of Love Actually's big names, but it's easy to forget just how young she was.

During filming, when the then 29-year-old Andrew Lincoln was professing his character's love for Juliet, Knightley was just 17 years old. There's no way of looking at it other than she shouldn't have been anywhere near this role, or this scene.
