2. Friday The 13th (2009) - Trent DeMarco
The pretty-good 2009 Friday the 13th reboot features perhaps the quintessential slasher movie douchebag: Trent DeMarco (Travis Van Winkle).
One of the many good things about this reboot is its heightened, gently campy tone that throws back to the slasher films of yesteryear, and Trent feeds into this by being a particularly exaggerated figure who puts other similar characters to shame.
No word of a lie, this guy is so obnoxious and revolting that you could call him the Dolores Umbridge of slasher movie characters. He's a smug, rude, and rich wanker who treats his friends like absolute trash, and for no reason, he's completely horrible to protagonist Clay (Jared Padalecki), who's searching the surrounding area for his missing sister. Trent's much-nicer girlfriend Jenna (Danielle Panabaker), who he's very controlling towards, decides to help Clay in his search, and Trent pays her out by spitefully cheating on her with one of her close friends.
Trent also shows no concern for his supposed friends when Jason Voorhees (Derek Mears) shows up, and it seems like Trent only invited everyone along to begin with so that he could show off how extravagant his family's cabin was. Seriously, there is nothing good to say about this guy, and he's so revolting he almost feels like a parody of horror movie jerks. It's a genuine relief when he finally ends up impaled on Jason's trusty machete.
