50 Infuriating Horror Movie Characters We All Secretly Wanted To Die

3. Dashcam - Annie

This is one of the more interesting examples on this list. When crafting his found-footage horror Dashcam, director Rob Savage seemed to intentionally come up with the most unlikable character he could think of. It was like he was testing audiences, challenging them to root for the survival of such a character.

The character in question is Annie, portrayed by musician Annie Hardy as a meta-fictional version of herself. Annie is the worst of the worst, an obnoxious, unfunny, mean-spirited, and bigoted piece of trash who spends her time doing these dreadful freestyle raps in her car and promoting conspiracy theories about Covid-19, vaccines, race, and pretty much every other hot-button topic.

So exaggerated is this character that she borders on parody. If a comedy sketch show were trying to satirize extreme MAGA-hat-wearing Conservatives in the US, it'd probably look like Annie. Alas, by the end of the movie, those who were hoping for Annie to snuff it were left short-changed as Annie survived and continues live-streaming as the credits roll, doing another one of her awful raps for good measure.

This was a bold creative choice, albeit not one that necessarily paid off. Annie single-handedly ruined the movie for many viewers, and this is a crying shame. By the standards of found-footage horror, Dashcam is actually very well-made, and with a nicer lead, it could've spoken to a wider audience.
