39. Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children

Any new Tim Burton movie is bound to cause some disquiet for anyone who's paid any attention to his recent work, but it's still hard to resist anything that sounds like an opportunity for his unrivalled imagination to run wild.

Obviously, restraint has been a problem for some time, but hopefully Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children will be the smaller scale spooky vehicle he needs to get back to what he used to do best. The cast is good (and no, no Johnny Depp or Helena Bonham-Carter), and the premise is too: let's just hope the old Burton turns up to direct it.
