50 Most Anticipated Movies Of 2016 - Ranked

4. Deadpool

Back in 2009 when the MCU was brand new, Superman had unspectacularly returned and Fox had just made the abomination that was X-Men Origins: Wolverine, few fans of the genre could ever have guessed that within six years we'd have Batman V Superman, Civil War and a Deadpool film that actually seemed to do justice to the source. And not just in the sense of a good film with the character dropped in, but a genuine fourth wall breaking, R-rated bloodfest with charm and swagger and dick jokes.

Despite being part of that terrible first go, Ryan Reynolds seems to have emerged with his profile intact (as he has from all of the awful comic book movies he's been part of) and the continued belief that he is the right man for the job. His cocky, back-talking Wade Wilson in Wolverine definitely offered promise, and he has proved since that he is committed to giving the fans what they want.

So even if the framework of the film sucks, as long as we get two hours of Deadpool quipping, strutting and swearing his way through hyper-violence and sex, it's going to be a winner.

Release Date: 12th February 2016
