50 Most Anticipated Movies Of 2016 - Ranked
3. X-Men Apocalypse
After the timeline crossing epic scale of X-Men: Days Of Future Past - which was a brilliant continuation of both Matthew Vaughn and Bryan Singer's work on the franchise - Fox needed an even bigger deal to sign off the historical trilogy of movies with the First Class cast. How could he have turned anywhere other than the God-like first mutant with a superiority complex and a singular desire to take over the world for mutants?
With a newly updated '80s setting and a whole new arm of the cast - including Tye Sheridan's Cyclops, Sophie Turner's Jean Grey and Kodi Smit-McPhee's Nightcrawler - there's a lot to be excited about. And that's without mentioning Apocalypse himself (Oscar Isaac) and his Four Horsemen (Michael Fassbender's Magneto, Ben Hardy's Archangel, Alexandra Shipp's Storm and Olivia Munn's Psylocke).
Expect bigger threat, bigger casualties and bigger implications for a whole new stage of the franchise with the new cast members taking centre stage.
