15. Halloween

2018 In Film
Blumhouse Productions

If you're not into the idea of seeing The Jungle Book in October, David Gordon Green has a treat for fans of classic horror films in the shape of the Halloween revival.

John Carpenter says it's going to be the scariest ever (a fitting billing for the 10th sequel) and the good news for anyone who lost interest as the franchise delivered diminished returns is that it will directly follow the original and ignore all of the sequels.

In truth, there's not a lot a Halloween movie needs to get right to be good, and the return of JamieLee Curtis is already a very good start. Add in some real scares and a sense of what made the original work and we're onto a winner. Even if the director/writing team of Green and Danny McBride is a little... odd.

Release Date: October 19th
