25. John Wick 3: Parabellum

Thanks to the simple, effective performance of Keanu Reeves as the titular character and the heavy-hitting direction of Chad Stahelski and David Leitch (who was uncredited on the first movie as a director), John Wick quickly became a franchise with lots of potential for longevity.

Just as the likes of John McClane and Dirty Harry are all about their next assignment (even when they've tried to get out of the game), Wick as a blunt object doling out his brand of Punisher-like justice is compelling no matter what the framing.

So of course a third movie was going to come and of course it was going to be exciting on the exact same terms as the others. After killing a high level crime figure in the previous movie, he's now basically tasked with his own Escape From New York situation, with the High Table all seeking to snuff him out. Expect violence. Obviously.
