23. Venom: Let There Be Carnage

As much of a big 'ol mess as the first Venom was, in many respects the only way is up for this sequel, which will see Andy Serkis replace prior director Ruben Fleischer, while Woody Harrelson will play primary antagonist Cletus Kasady aka Carnage, and Naomie Harris joins the cast as his villainess love interest Shriek.

If Let There Be Carnage can iron out its predecessor's wonky storytelling and have as much loony fun with the Eddie Brock/Venom (Tom Hardy) dynamic as possible while also doing justice to Carnage, then it could very well be a significant improvement over what came before.

The fact that original screenwriter Kelly Marcel is returning perhaps doesn't instill the greatest confidence, but in the very least it'll hopefully be a memorable curiosity much like the first film.
