50 Most Anticipated Movies Of 2021
3. Black Widow
Unquestionably the most-anticipated delayed blockbuster for most mainstream viewers, Black Widow is set to kick off the fourth Phase - or whatever they're calling it now - of the MCU, and assuming it does indeed release this May, will mark 22 months since the release of the previous MCU film, Spider-Man: Far From Home.
As odd as it is to release a solo superhero movie after the character has already died in the current continuity, Black Widow will hopefully give Natasha Romanoff the affecting send-off she was denied by her hasty death in Avengers: Endgame.
Director Cate Shortland (Lore, Berlin Syndrome) certainly has the chops to do the job, and with a cast including Florence Pugh, David Harbour, O-T Fagbenle, William Hurt, Ray Winstone, and Rachel Weisz, there's every reason to be confident in its success.
Above all else, audiences are itching for another MCU movie at this point, so even if it's just fine, that'll be more than enough.
