50 Most Anticipated Movies Of 2022

44. The Lost City

This action-adventure rom-com from the mind of Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses) could be one of the year's first big breakout box office hits.

The Lost City is centered around a reclusive romance novelist, Loretta Sage (Sandra Bullock), whose book tour goes hilariously awry as she and her cover model (Channing Tatum) end up on the run in the South American jungle.

With Daniel Radcliffe set to play the villain and Brad Pitt onboard to play a (presumably small) supporting role, this has the potential to be a welcome blast of frothy fun releasing just as Oscar season wraps up.

The Lost City releases on March 25.

43. Sonic The Hedgehog 2

Sonic the Hedgehog was one of the most unexpected success stories of recent cinematic times - it was far from a massive box office smash, but performed well enough with both critics and audiences, after Paramount made the smart decision to delay its release and fix Sonic's design.

As a result there's a genuine level of excitement for the sequel, which in addition to pairing Sonic (Ben Schwartz) with his pal Tails (voiced by Colleen O'Shaughnessey from the video games, no less), will see Knuckles (Idris Elba) arrive to team up with Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey).

The first trailer looks like a ton of fun, and so this could very well end up one of the better video game movies ever made - an embarrassingly low bar to clear, admittedly.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 releases on April 8.
