44. Renfield

Nicolas Cage as Count Dracula - what the hell else do you need to know about Renfield?

Director Chris McKay (The Lego Batman Movie, The Tomorrow War) will helm this thoroughly tongue-in-cheek horror-comedy conceived by The Walking Dead's Robert Kirkman and centered around Dracula's titular henchman (Nicholas Hoult) trying to live in modern day New Orleans.

Spy photos from the set have revealed Cage's absolutely wonderful get-up as Dracula - caked in pale makeup and wearing a crushed velvet suit - confirming beyond any doubt that this isn't a film taking itself one iota seriously.

The cast is rounded out by Awkwafina, Ben Schwartz, and Shohreh Aghdashloo, and if this lives up to just a fraction of its obviously insane potential, it's going to be a whole lot of fun.

Renfield releases on April 14.

43. The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
Lionsgate

Since The Hunger Games wrapped up back in 2015, there's been continual discussion about how quickly the franchise seemed to fade from pop-culture discourse, but Lionsgate hopes to bring it surging back to life with the new prequel film adapted from Suzanne Collins' 2020 novel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

Director Francis Lawrence, who helmed the latter three Hunger Games movies, is back for this one, with the cast including Tom Blyth (as a young Coriolanus Snow), Rachel Zegler, Hunter Schafer, Jason Schwartzman, Burn Gorman, Peter Dinklage, and Viola Davis.

Though Collins' novel wasn't as rapturously received as The Hunger Games, it was still broadly acclaimed and can clearly serve as the solid foundation for a new movie, whether it ends up being a mere one-off or the start of a new series.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes releases on November 17.
