42. Saw X

Death, taxes, and the Saw franchise - that's the three things you can count on in life.

Despite 2020's ninth Saw film Spiral failing to make much of a dent with fans, the horror series keeps its budgets low enough that there's always room to try again, and so Saw X is currently in the late stages of shooting.

Kevin Greutert, who helmed the sixth and seventh films, is back to direct, and though plot details are largely hush-hush, it's apparently a "midquel" set between the first two Saw movies.

Tobin Bell is back as Jigsaw, despite being almost 20 years older than he was when he shot the first Saw, and though Jigsaw and Spiral writers Josh Stolberg and Peter Goldfinger are penning it, one remains hopeful that a more Jigsaw-centric film might get the unkillable franchise back on track.

Saw X releases on October 27.

41. Knock At The Cabin

M. Night Shyamalan's new psychological horror film looks like a self-contained blast - an adaptation of Paul G. Tremblay's acclaimed 2018 novel The Cabin at the End of the World.

Jonathan Groff and Ben Aldridge star as a couple who, along with their young daughter, are held hostage at their cabin by a group of four strangers, led by the intimidating Leonard (Dave Bautista).

In the moody, stage-setting trailer, Leonard informs the trio that they have been selected to make a choice in order to prevent the apocalypse.

Shyamalan is a master of intrigue, no matter the typically uneven outcome of his films, and on the basis of its first trailer, it's going to be quite the unnerving ride indeed.

Knock at the Cabin releases on February 3.
