28. LEGO Batman
Status: Incoming Due: 2017 Key Players: Will Arnett returns, Chris McKay directs and Seth Grahame-Smith writes. Hopefully theyll try and bring in either Mark Hamill or Chris Corey Smith for The Joker. Whats It About: After stealing the brilliant LEGO Movie, Batman gets his own spin-off, no doubt following the irreverent, tongue-in-cheek portrayal of the character weve already seen, and introduce some of his villains. Why We Should Care: For exactly the same reasons that Arnetts Batman stole The LEGO Movie: it will be hilarious, it will be outrageous, and its a wonderful idea all round.
27. Boost Gold & Blue Beetle
Status: Strongly Rumoured Due: TBC Key Players: Zak Penn is strongly rumoured to be writing, while Arrow and The Flashs Greg Berlanti will direct. Theres no casting news yet though. Whats It About: The super-team up between DCs versions of Iron Man and Ant-Man will change the field of play for the DCEU if it gets into legitimate development, adding a comic edge as yet unseen. Its basically a super bromance. Why We Should Care: After Zack Snyders grim humourless vision, seeing something a little lighter can only be counted as a good thing, and the MCU has proved that humour goes a long way.
