3. Ray Winstone - The Departed (2006)

With Martin Scorsese in the director's chair, you're guaranteed to get an intricately multi-layered film with sparkling dialogue and an impressive cast list. The Departed is no exception, with so many twists and turns you're in danger of feeling giddy, and the performances from Jack Nicholson, Leonardo DiCaprio and even Matt Damon will knock your socks off. So the real question is: how on Earth did Ray Winstone's rubbish American accent slip under the net? It's genuinely painful to watch and distracts enormously, which is a shame as there's so many great performances going on around him. Even Leo perfects the Boston twang (though we may never, or should ever, forget Blood Diamond - was that supposed to be South African, Leo?). Anyway, Winstone lets the side down with his bizarre rendition of... I don't know, American-Irish supposedly. By 'eck!
