6 Things We Learned About Harley Quinn From The Birds Of Prey Teaser

This is undoubtedly the most contentious part of Harley’s new design. Although not visible in the teaser trailer, it’s clearly visible in the selfie Margot Robbie posted to Instagram a few hours before the trailer dropped, and fans are already busy debating what it means.

In place of her Puddin’ choker from Suicide Squad, Harley instead wears a dog collar. This fits with the more punk edge this new costume has, but there’s more to it as well. The most interesting part is the name etched onto it: rather than Harley, Harleen or even Joker, the necklace instead says Bruce.

The most obvious link to the name is clearly Bruce Wayne, but this would suggest she knows his identity; a little strange considering Batman is not in this movie. A more likely (if honestly, less intriguing) link is that it’s Bruce Timm, Harley’s co-creator. If that’s true, it’s yet another link to The Animated Series in Birds Of Prey.

Say what you like about Suicide Squad, but they certainly knew how to market. The Bruce on the necklace may be no accident, and instead specifically designed to incite speculation online. If that was the plan, it certainly worked.
