6 Trailers That Were Released Over A Year Before The Movie Came Out
3. Avengers: Infinity War
Trailer Release: 2nd October 2015
Film Release: 4th May 2016
A cynic would say the likes of Avengers: Age Of Ultron were little more than feature-length trailers for upcoming films as is or that post-credit scenes are teasers by another name (something that's not even objectionable with Captain America: The First Avenger's teaser for The Avengers), but I don't have to even reach with Marvel to find advance marketing - they've already embraced ridiculously-ahead-of-time trailers.
At the now-legendary Marvel event in October 2014 where Kevin Feige unveiled the studio's plans for Phase 3 (a proposed slate that now looks remarkably different), he screened an announcement trailer for the two-part Avengers: Infinity War. Mostly made up of footage from earlier films (and the then-upcoming Age Of Ultron), it culminated in an awesome shot of a grinning Thanos with a complete Infinity Gauntlet - a short but sweet fresh tease.
The trailer was never released online (although there's plenty of cam-footage of it), but eventually parts of this sneak were officially unveiled; on the Age Of Ultron DVD, much of it was reused in The Infinite Six bonus feature.
