6 Troubling Batman V Superman Behind The Scenes Rumours You Need To Know
3. It Might Upset Fans Even More Than Man Of Steel Did
Man of Steel was far from a flop either critically or financially. It is however fair to say that it's not exactly the hit Warner Bros. had been hoping for, while you need only look at the fact that people are still arguing over Zack Snyder's depiction of Superman for proof of just how divisive it was. The fact that even someone who loved Man of Steel says Batman v Superman looks set to be just as polarising is obviously very worrying then! It seems as if Warner Bros. were hoping for a crowd pleasing blockbuster like Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but Zack Snyder has instead delivered a movie which audiences may not necessarily gravitate towards. That's a big problem for a number of reasons. It means word of mouth takes a dent as do multiple viewings, two things which will ultimately end up putting Batman v Superman's chances of being a hit at risk. There's even been speculation that the studio is concerned about moviegoers being too used to Marvel's "popcorn" fare to embrace a more grown up superhero movie with a screenplay from an Oscar winner like Chris Terrio. Of course, if the recent success of Deadpool proves anything, it's that people are open to different types of superhero movies, so Batman v Superman will have to do something really nuts to alienate them.
