7 Films That Eerily Predicted Future Roles

4. Christopher Walken - The Dead Zone/Sleepy Hollow

The Dead Zone is based on Stephen King’s famous book and features arguably Christopher Walken’s finest performance, where he plays a man blessed/cursed with psychic visions. Before the accident that caused this ability he’s just a regular school teacher, who tells his class to read The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow for an assignment. He also mentions the book post-accident, quoting a line to his former girlfriend that sums up his lonely new life.

Fast forward to 1998 and Walken himself was playing Sleepy Hollow's Headless Horseman, who causes Johnny Depp no end of trouble. It’s ultimately a small role, but he’s clearly having a lot of fun hamming it up and lopping off heads.

Contrasting the two roles side by side also shows Walken's range, where he’s equally at home playing tragic heroes and cartoonish villains; sadly his later career saw him leaning on the latter a little too hard.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
