7 Game of Thrones Actors Who Could Defect To Star Wars

5. Michelle Fairley (Catelyn Stark)

With a distinguished career in theatre, film and television dating back to the late 80's Michelle Fairley has been around a while but it was only after her stint as an original Game of Thrones cast member, playing one of the most important characters in the entire saga Lady Catelyn Stark, that her talents were given the wider recognition they deserve. Her newfound fame was further augmented in the annals of popular culture history by her key role in the Red Wedding episode: "The Rains of Castermere". Fans of A Song of Ice and Fire had been eagerly awaiting her return to the series as the reanimated Lady Stoneheart but word has it that David Benioff and D. B. Weiss may ditch the Stoneheart plot-line leaving a gap in Fairley's schedule that Star Wars could exploit. Who She Could Play: Jedi Councilor, Senator As with Robert Pugh there is again a temptation to cast to type when considering Michelle Fairley for a Star Wars role. Its so easy to imagine her in a stately role as a dignitary with the same heir of nobility that she brought to Catelyn Stark. What would be interesting though is to take that a step further and tap into the badass qualities she brought to the role. She may have never handled a sword in Game of Thrones but her fierce and powerful presence made her feel like someone not to be trifled with. Considering this it feels fitting to give her a seat on the rebuilt Jedi Council, where she could exalt the same kind of knowing influence. She is the right age to have been trained as a Padawan post-Battle of Endor and would make that council seat her own.
