6. Body Slam
Director: Hal Needham. Starring: Dirk Benedict, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Lou Albano In Body Slam, washed up music promoter Harry Smilac (Dirk Benedict) mistakenly hires a professional wrestler as a client, but eventually decides to stick around as a manager. Natch. Following a series of feuds with villainous head honcho Captain Lou Morano, he eventually organizes a nationwide tour featuring rock bands and wrestling shows. Starring Rowdy Roddy Piper in his first leading role, Body Slam is considered one of the more forgettable moments of the Rock n Wrestling Connection era. However, this is more to do with the various legal wrangles surrounding the production which eventually resulted in a direct-to-video release, than the content of the film itself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqpg_KtTrmA Lou Albano stars as Pipers villainous former manager (he previously appeared as Cindy Laupers dad in the music video for Girls Just Wanna Have Fun). Also, being the Limousine riding, jet flying, kiss stealing wheeling dealing son of a gun that he is, Ric Flair also bags himself a cameo in one of the match sequences. Naturally.
