7 Most Groan-Inducing Moments In Endless Love Trailer

2. The "Addicted To Love" Cover

Look, nobody was ever head-over-heels in love with Robert Palmer's song in the first place, but the original version of "Addicted to Love" is still a very catchy tune. It's fun to sing along to, especially at a karaoke bar. Plus, the music video features all those weird, robotic models that are clearly not having a great time. I love that music video. The models all look exactly the same, and for some reason, they're mock-playing the instruments. There are many ways the music video could turn into a horror movie, but it doesn't. When I was a kid, those models occasionally haunted my dreams... but I'm veering too far off course here. While the full version of Skylar Grey's cover has not been released yet, it makes me cringe when I hear it in this trailer. It's just so... slow. The edited version of the original song clocked in at just over four minutes, if Skylar Grey keeps going in that slow pace, it would have to be at least 12 minutes long. Could you imagine those models having to dance to that version? Now that would be a creepy music video. I will say that the song does not make me cringe as much as that cover of "Happy Together" in the trailer for "The Great Gatsby." What's with these ultra-serious, super slow versions of poppy songs? Why do we live in that world now? I'm sure if you slowed down any song it would have the same effect, why not do "Celebration" by KC and the Sunshine Band too while you're at it? Here's another problem: the lyrics to "Addicted to Love" are not particularly great either. I am pretty sure they were written at the very last minute. So, by slowing down the song, you're simply highlighting just how incredibly cheesy the lyrics are. And by having the song appear in the trailer for this movie, you're highlighting just how cheesy the movie is. See where I'm getting at here?
