7 Horror Sci-Fi Films To Watch Before Alien Covenant

4. Fire In The Sky

Alien Covenant
Columbia

Fire in the Sky is one of those movies that creeps up on you. While not a straight horror, Fire in the Sky tells the story of real-life logger Travis Walton, who was allegedly abducted by aliens in front of his co-workers before showing up days later, naked and dehydrated.

While the majority of the film plays out as more of a mystery-thriller, Walton has a flashback to his abduction in the movie's third act which is frankly the stuff of nightmares, depicting the aliens' torturous method of experimentation in excruciating detail. Complete with ocular probes, partial suffocation and other nasty procedures, all we can do is watch on as Walton helplessly screams for his life.

For anyone even mildly scared of the notion of alien abduction, this film is sure to keep you up at night. Much in the same way the original Alien did back in 1979, Fire in the Sky manages to make a film that plays on our inherent fear of violation, so you may want to check it out before Alien: Covenant hits the big screen this May.
