This teen comedy is scheduled for release early next month, and the film promises an equally smart and hilarious take on the fraught politics of high school dynamics.

Directed by Amy Poehler (who also stars), Moxie focuses on Emma Cunningham (Josephine Langford), a sixteen-year-old high schooler dismayed by the misogynistic double standards which run rampant at her school.

Inspired by her radical mother (Poehler), Emma decides to anonymously publish Moxie, a rebellious zine which criticises the school's sexist status quo. Inspiring and galvanising her similarly fed-up students, Emma ends up triggering a school-wide revolt which angers parents and school officials alike.

This is Poehler's second stint as a director, and the comedienne previously worked with Netflix on Wine Country, a sweetly sentimental comedy which was released by streaming site in 2019. Poehler's directorial debut was warmly received by critics, and we reckon that Moxie will attract similary rave reviews.

Dealing with relevant themes, delivering a strong message, and starring an all-star ensemble cast, we predict that Moxie will be a hit among audiences and critics alike. Scheduled for release later this spring, this feminist teen comedy will likely delight Netflix viewers with its razor-sharp wit and empowering content.
