7 Reasons The Guardians Of The Galaxy Shouldn't Be In Avengers: Infinity War

1. The Movie Will Be Too Crowded

Avengers: Infinity War has been touted as a 'culmination' by its directors, Joe and Anthony Russo. Based on that statement, we can assume that the movie will feature most of the Earth-heroes we've been introduced to thus far. It's a tantalising prospect, but it doesn't leave much room for the Guardians.

Once you've slotted in the original 6 Avengers alongside Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Nick Fury, Spider-Man, the rumoured Captain Marvel, a generous role for Thanos and possibly even Loki, where's the breathing room? We only get some of these characters - Vision, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch - in the 'team-up' movies too, so taking away some of their screen time to give to the Guardians - who have their own standalone films - is a little unfair.

Simply put, the Guardians shouldn't be in Avengers: Infinity War due to a simple case of overcrowding. While the MCU has handled ensemble pieces capably before, there are countless examples of excessive subplots backfiring - Spider-Man 3, Batman v Superman and even Iron Man 2. Marvel could knock it out of the park again with Infinity War, but the risk of botching their biggest movie yet isn't one worth taking.
