7 Reasons Why Iron Man 3 Is An Awful Film

5. Tony's Is Lost/Dead Plot

not-so-dead_tony-small Let's follow the chain of events shall we? 1. Tony issues a challenge to the Mandarin. 2. The Mandarin's agents show up to Tony's house to accept the challenge. 3. They blow the place to smithereens (you think Jarvis could have given a head's up that missiles were one the way). 4. Tony takes out most of the bad guys. 5. After freeing himself from being trapped underwater, Tony leaves. I'm with you up to that point. Tony freaking/passing out and leaving by way of auto pilot is not a bad idea. Its just the next point that makes it all seem implausible. 7. The world believes Tony Stark is dead. Wait, what? Tony Stark died? Why would everyone just assume he died? Did we ever seem them looking for a body? No. Did we ever see them trying to conduct a massive search? No. They just assumed he sunk under water and was killed instantly. Can't he breath underwater in that suit? Wouldn't it be more likely that he was trapped? Honestly, the questions this plot point brings up are just as ridiculous as the plot point itself. The movie could have saved its viewers a lot of confusion by changing the whole he's dead thing into Tony going M.I.A. Of course it also doesn't make sense for such a famous person like that to just vanish without a trace lost but it's a lot better than the soap opera twist of there being a fake death. It's Iron Man not the Young and the Restless.

Raymond Woods is too busy watching movies to give you a decent bio. If he wasn't too busy watching movies and reading books about movies and listening to podcasts about movies, this is what he'd tell you. "I know more about film than you. Accept this as a fact and we might be able to talk."
