7 Things To Expect From Man Of Steel 2 If Matthew Vaughn Directs

5. A 2019 Release Date, At The Earliest

Vaughn is currently in the middle of post-production on Kingsman: The Golden Circle, before it releases on September 29.

And once that date hits, his work isn't necessarily over; he'll have a promotional tour to complete which could lead well into October, given that the film comes out in several major international territories during that month.

It's going to be an incredibly busy year for the guy, and even if he is hired to direct Man Of Steel 2 at some point in the coming weeks, he won't be able to give the project his undivided attention until the very end of the year.

So, at best, pre-production on Man Of Steel 2 would begin this November, with filming taking place in 2018.

If that's the case, the movie won't be ready to hit theatres until 2019 at the earliest, and given how much lead time films of this scale usually have - factoring in plenty of time for reshoots and extensive marketing - mid-to-late 2019 is the earliest possible release window.
