7 Times Fan Reaction Actually Changed Movies

The Initial Idea: Forgoing Apocalypse’s more industrial look, X-Men: Apocalypse’s titular villain was going to be sporting a more alien design, complete with purple skin instead of his traditional blue.

The Fan Reaction: The initial reveal of Apocalypse was met with indifference at best and hatred at worst. His cartoonish purple look immediately drew comparison to Power Rangers villain Ivan Ooze and it was clear that the threatening character was quickly being turned comical.

A recent development may have remedied all that but it’s still unclear if the changes to Apocalypse’s look are real or not. Coming from a mysterious Twitter feed, an alleged current screenshot from the film shows a much bluer and traditional-looking Apocalypse. The image looks legitimate and it’s accompanied by a new shot of the X-Men in costume that would seem to validate the source, but it’s all still far from official.

Fox could easily just claim that the first footage was unfinished and that it was always their intention to digitally alter the character’s look. Whether or not he has changed as a result of the fan reaction, if he's changed at all, it would definitely mark an improvement.
