7 Ups & 4 Downs From Russell Crowe's Unhinged

3. The Police In General

Sadly, the police in Unhinged are about as dedicated as those found in Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto series. They're totally the kind of cops who would see a perp dash off into a hideout, throw up their hands and say, 'Call off the army, lads - there's no sign of him!'.

Throughout the film, the New Orleans coppers come across as useless gits who couldn't apprehend a criminal if their lives depended on it. Their department heads also need to explain why they sent one squad car to catch some crazed psychopath who has been killing people in broad daylight all day and could be armed.

None of it makes any sense.

By the time Kyle Hunter is screaming at a policeman to help him and his mother on the road, things almost become comical. Rather than taking them seriously, said officer does the old 'I can't hear you, kid' routine before being wiped out by a speeding villain behind him.
