4. Mysterio

A truly classic Spider-Man villain, Mysterio definitely deserves a part in the live action Spider-Man world. Despite the fact that he looks silly (which could, of course, be altered for a movie depiction), fans around the world would love to see him and therefore a hint towards him the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man sequel would be great to see. Mysterio is Quentin Beck - a special effects wizard and stunt man who was working for a major Hollywood studio with dreams of making a name for himself in the film industry. However, he came to see his career in special effects as a dead-end job. His attempts to become an actor were poorly received, but he soon realised that his expertise in illusions could make him an effective supervillain and decided to take that route in life instead. Mysterio first encountered Spidey when he tried to frame him for a robbery he had committed in New York and it would only take a passing comment in the movie about a robbery having occurred that was carried out by a man in a silly round helmet to hint that he was on the loose. Although he does not possess any superhuman abilities, Mysterio is an expert designer of special effects devices and stage illusions, a master hypnotist and magician, and an amateur chemist and roboticist. He has created gases that have obstructed Peter Parker's Spider-Sense and chemical abrasives that can dissolve his webbing - so he is both a threat to Spider-Man on an intellectual and physical level.
