7 Villains It'd Be Great To See Hinted At In The Amazing Spider-Man 2

1. Carnage

Carnage Carnage is one of the quintessential Spider-Man villains (despite the fact that he only appeared for the first time in 1992) - so much so that it's hard to believe we haven't seen him already in one of the live action movies. It nearly happened - the character's first appearance in a motion picture was originally planned for a film written by David S. Goyer and produced by New Line Cinema where Venom would have been portrayed as an anti-hero and Carnage as the antagonist - but obviously didn't. There have been some strange rumours about Jim Carrey cameoing as Cletus Kasady - the psychopath and homicidal sadist who would bond with the Carnage symbiote (the offspring of the Venom Symbiote which he encountered whilst sharing a prison cell with Eddie Brock), but that's all they are - rumours (thankfully, as I can't really see that working). Kasady is a deeply disturbed individual with a dark past. As a child, he killed his grandmother by pushing her down a flight of stairs, tried to murder his mother by tossing a television into her bathtub and tortured and killed his mother's dog. The Carnage symbiote was born with abilities far more potent than its "mother", due to the fact that it gestated in an environment alien to it i.e. Earth. The alien symbiote provides Kasady with enhanced physical strength greater than that of Spider-Man and Venom combined, as well as shape-shifting abilities. It also allows him to project a web-like substance from any part of his body, including the formation of weapons with the substance, and enables him to plant thoughts into a person's head using a symbiotic tendril. Much like Spider-Man, Kasady has the ability to cling to virtually any surface and has a power similar to Spider-Man's Spider-Sense in that the symbiote can relay information to him from any angle and grants him the ability to "see" in any direction, warning him of incoming threats. Carnage escaped prison and went on a murder spree. When Spider-Man tried to stop it, he was soundly defeated and had to form a truce with Venom to combat it as a pairing. Ultimately, it was defeated using sonic vibrations, but it would live on - as it actually merged with Kasady's bloodstream. Merely seeing the words "Carnage Storage" in a computer database (like the one in the picture on the first page of this article) would be enough to send fans wild, knowing that the symbiote existed in the Amazing Spider-Man universe. Done right, the character could look amazing in a future appearance. So there you have it - seven villains it would be great to see hinted at in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
