8 Actor/Character Combinations To Bring Oscars To The MCU
3. Jared Leto - Sentry
Sentry gets a bad rap. He's an extremely complex character and, when he's not being written by Brian Michael Bendis (such as in his very first run), he's actually very interesting. He's a hero with a dangerous dark side that projects itself as a powerful entity called the Void. For that reason, he used his massive psionic powers to wipe the world's memories of him. Although he's heroic, the massive amounts of power his body has to contain has driven him somewhat insane, so you need a man who can portray crazy to play him on screen - step forward Jared Leto. The man who will play The Joker in next year's Suicide Squad - who already has a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance as a transgender woman in 2013's Dallas Buyers Club - would make an awesome Sentry. Sure, he's currently tied up with DC/Warner Brothers, but once that contract is over he could surely head over to Marvel Studios in time for Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A prerequisite of anyone portraying Sentry is that they'd have to be pretty - and, no matter what your persuasion, it has to be said that Leto is a beautiful man. He would totally throw himself into the role and with the looks and the acting chops to portray an unbalanced man with a heroic side and a dark side - as well as previous comic book movie experience now that he's portrayed The Joker - he could make the incredibly powerful hero the flagship star of the MCU going forward.
