8 Actors Who Should Come Out Of Retirement For One Last Role
6. Randy Quaid
Oh, Randy Quaid. Your star certainly didn't burn the brightest of all the Quaids, but it did burn out the fastest. And that's...well, that's gotta count for something. Everyone in Hollywood is a little insane, but Randy Quaid is less "I don't believe in vaccinations" crazy and more "I'm not a man, I'm a giant lollipop" crazy. It may be a thin line, but it's an important one that Randy crossed over sometime in the mid 00s. The older Quaid was lucky enough to give one final, respectable gasp in Brokeback Mountain, before bidding farewell to Hollywood for good with the surprisingly watchable Balls Out (starring alongside Seann William Scott) in 2009. Strangely, it was this movie that demonstrated what an asset Randy Quaid could be in the right setting. If he were to make a return to Hollywood, he would need to be utilized in the type of lowbrow, silly fare that made him famous in the first place. I'm talking about the Eddie Griswolds and the Ishmaels of his acting resume. At this point you probably wouldn't even need to give him a script, just put him through hair and makeup and then point the camera at him whenever you need a scene of someone yelling at the Sun in their underwear. A lot of movies would be better for it.
