2. John Travolta – The Double

John Travolta is undoubtedly one of Hollywood's most bizarre icons, as he seems to have had more career comebacks than anyone else in the movie business. Even to this day, he still has a surprising amount of star power, and apparently, even the power to end a film after leaving it.

The Double was a film set to start production in 1997, with John Travolta taking on the leading role after replacing Anthony Hopkins. However, he ended up departing from the flick, with the production company (Mandalay Entertainment) citing that he demanded screenplay rewrites that ended up going over the head of the director, Roman Polanski.

Ultimately, this decision to leave the film led to the company suing Travolta. Thanks to his lawyer, he managed to settle out of court for a satisfactory sum after stating that no official contracts had been signed and that the Grease and Pulp Fiction star wouldn't have done so until the screenplay was approved.

It's a shame we never got to see the flick, as the drama behind a movie can often spell dynamite on screen.
