8 Awful Movie Moments DC Wants You To Forget

3. The Murder Of The Superhero Sex Scene - Watchmen

Batman Forever Crotch

You know a sex scene is about to get grim when a cheesy song starts to play. That's the sign that rather than a tasteful cutaway the film is about to get stuck in deep to its depiction of the act, and though often this can be a meaningful part of character development, not so much when Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah is playing.

The scene sees characters Nite Owl and Silk Spectre slowly disrobe each other in a floating ship, the camera labouring over their every grope and gasp. After a full minute of sex, the scene climaxes in a bizarre shot of Spectre slamming the ship's ignition button, causing a jet of flame to shoot out of the exhaust (yeah, we get it - doesn't mean you should have done it though).

In light of Cohen's recent death (RIP), the scene has been further catapulted into the stratosphere of awfulness.
