8 Big Movie Stars That Started As Background Extras

6. John Leguizamo - Die Hard 2/Out for Justice

It's a two for one special for actor John Leguizamo. Back before he broke through with films like Ice Age, Carlito's Way and Super Mario Bros. Leguizamo was a stand-up comic and jobbing actor taking small roles whenever they came up. One of his earliest appearances saw him as a henchman named Burke in Die Hard 2. He appears in a few scenes and even gets a small line, and he has the distinct honour of being killed by John McClane himself. He also made a blink and you'll miss it appearance in the Steven Seagal film Out for Justice, in the crucial role of "Boy in Alley." He plays a drug dealer in a montage sequence midway through the film who comes to a bad end at the hands of the main villain. Apparently his part was a little bigger but was reduced to almost nothing in the final cut to tighten the pace. Leguizamo didn€™t meet Seagal in this one but they worked together years later in Executive Decision, where he was pushed into a brick wall during rehearsals for daring to laugh at the Seagal€™s tough guy posing. Apparently Seagal has since threatened to beat him up again for revealing this story, but given Seagal€™s ever expanding girth all Leguizamo has to do is retreat to a narrow doorway and he should be safe.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
