The can’t-miss movie arriving in June is undoubtedly Finding Dory. Nemo remains one of the highest-grossing animated movies ever made, earning close to $870 million on its original release, and Dory ought to find her way to a similar return.

The star power of The Rock and Kevin Hart bodes well for Central Intelligence, while Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows has a job on its hands to match the $493 million gross last time out. The first film took a drubbing from critics and they haven’t been any kinder to the sequel, but it’s kids and not critics who drive these films, so a healthy profit seems likely.

It’s also inconceivable that The Conjuring 2 won’t be a big win for Warner Bros., following as it surely does the tried and tested low-budget, high-returns horror template. Now You See Me 2 probably won’t repeat the original’s trick of grossing $352 million against a $75 million budget, but nonetheless an outright flop seems improbable.

And Independence Day: Resurgence? On the one hand, it’s been twenty years since its predecessor and Liam Hemsworth is no Will Smith. On the other, several key cast members are back this time round and few directors know their way around big budget spectaculars like Roland Emmerich. It should do well, but how well remains to be seen.
