8 Comic Book Characters That Deserve Another Movie (And How To Do It)
2. Blade
Although everyone cites X-Men as the movie that kicked off the current wave of comic book movies, it was really Blade a couple of years before that made them cool again. Wesley Snipes was custom made for the role, where he got to put his marital arts and one-liner skills to good use. The much derided Blade: Trinity killed the series overnight, with a terrible spin-off TV show helping nail the coffin tightly shut. Things have been quiet for the character since then, with Wesley Snipes going to prison for tax evasion probably not helping matters. Nor did the stories of how unbearable he was to work with on Trinity. When he was released though people started getting excited about seeing the character again. How To Do It Snipes claims hes had some discussions with Marvel about reprising the character, with the current rumour suggesting Blades teenage daughter could be introduced. Which isnt the worst idea; it would be a fresh twist for the lone wolf slayer to have someone to care about, plus introducing a new character would help make it appealing to audience's unfamiliar with the franchise. Whatever happens Blade has to stick to his roots; it needs to remain violent and dark. Blade is not a character that belongs with a Happy Meal.
