8 Comic Book Characters That Deserve Another Movie (And How To Do It)

1. Fantastic Four

To date there have been four movies made of Fantastic Four, with the best being the cheap 1994 version that was never intended for release. It€™s still not good but it manages to capture the tone of the comic somewhat, as well as the relationships between the characters. It shouldn€™t be so hard but none of the movies made so far have come close to nailing it. The Josh Trank version came under heavy fire for - among many other issues - failing to make the group feel like a family unit. They were just a bunch of people thrown into a situation together, yet they never felt like a team. That - combined with the po-faced tone - turned off fans and newcomers alike. Trank slamming the released version on Twitter didn€™t help either. How To Do It The Trank version of Fantastic Four is DOA, so there€™s no point reuniting the cast for a sequel. The studio needs to let the heat die down before trying again, with maybe their best hope being a team-up to reintroduce them. There was talk of pairing Trank's version of the group with the X-Men for an Avengers style team-up - before the last version bombed of course - so maybe the X-Men could sow the seeds for their comeback event. The characters could work with - or against - each together in a big event movie, and if audiences take a shine to their new incarnation a solo movie could be produced. Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
