5. Josh Helman - William Stryker (X-Men)
Of the three actors to play Stryker throughout the X-Men series, Brian Cox was easily the best. His calm demeanour hid an utter monster underneath, and you genuinely believed he was capable of his planned mutant genocide.
Danny Huston was OK, but he was clearly thinking of the cheque (and he was working against the fact it really doesn’t track that Huston would morph into Brian Cox). The actor currently playing Stryker, Josh Helman, is steaming plate of nothing, though. He’s just kind of there and underplays to the point of barely existing.
The character hasn’t had much to do since Helman took over, but the odds are most fans will forget he was even there. If the character comes back in the next entry the part should go to someone more age appropriate. And who, y'know, actually commands the screen.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan or Karl Urban would be great, although since Brian Cox has barely aged since 2003 they could just dye his beard and they’d be set.
