4. Pennyworth Will Shape The Dark Knight

During the SDCC Pennyworth panel, the show’s executive producer Bruno Heller revealed that the show will actually start to shape the personality of Batman.

But wait, how can a show centred on a young Alfred Pennyworth feature Bruce Wayne? It can’t, and it doesn’t. Instead, Heller revealed that Pennyworth will showcase the different sides of Bruce’s personality by how it depicts his parents, Thomas and Martha Wayne.

In the show, Thomas and Martha are far from the married couple who were gunned down in Crime Alley on that night, but the series will see the pair’s romance begin to blossom.

As Heller put it, “Thomas represents the righteous detective part of Batman, Martha represents the fearless ‘screw it, we’re gonna do this’ side”.

So while Master Bruce will clearly not be a part of Pennyworth, audiences will be given an insight into part of why Batman is, well, Batman.
