8 Famous Actors Who Beefed With Disney

If you haven't heard of the name Adriana Caselotti, there's a very sad reason for that - and, spoilers, it's all Disney's fault.

Caselotti was the lead voice actress for Snow White in the extremely successful animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, released in 1937. The film was Disney's first animated, feature-length picture and grossed over $400 million (adjusted for inflation) on a budget of $1.5 million. For comparison, Caselotti was only paid about $17,000 for her role in the film.

So why might you have never heard of Caselotti? Well, that's because, despite voicing the titular character of the film, she wasn't actually credited for her work. Caselotti worked on the film for three years, and her reward was being forbidden by Walt Disney himself to ever reveal her role in the picture.

Caselotti went onto only get a couple of background roles in future films, leading her to sue Disney for the sum of $100,000 - although her legal battle was unsuccessful. Supposedly, Disney blacklisted her from the industry, warning off other producers from hiring her under the threat of never working with them in the future.
