2. Sidney Lumet Preferred Movies Shot In A Confined Location
As Seen In... The Hill,
12 Angry Men, Dog Day Afternoon, Murder On The Orient Express Sidney Lumet is considered to be one of the all-time greatest movie directors - a man whose pictures were crafted with a unrivalled mastery, many of which were famously set in a single or confined location. Although all of Lumet's single location flicks are rather well-known, it's rare than anybody remembers that he was the one responsible for them all, and had a certain skill when it came to dealing with movies dealing in closed environments. Lumet was the guy who made 12 Angry Men, which takes place in one room for the sum of 90 minutes, and explodes off the screen with all the tension and claustrophobia you might associate with being a juror on a murder case. Remember Dog Day Afternoon? A confined location, set within a bank and on the street outside. Then there's Murder On The Orient Express, which is about as confined a movie location as they come. Even his lesser-known, earlier movie The Hill (which starred Sean Connery) took place entirely in a prison camp during World War II.
