As you have probably guessed from the numerous references to the character in the previous entries in this list, Surtur will undoubtedly be the main villain Thor: Ragnarok. He will likely be released from imprisonment somewhere, by Loki, in order for the event to begin and will launch an assault on Asgard that will overcome almost everyone there. He was hinted at in Thor: The Dark World when the Convergence was taking place and a glimpse in to his fiery realm of Muspelheim was seen through a portal. Surtur is insanely powerful and Loki will likely end up regretting setting him free. Odin will have to stand up to him and Loki will end up allowing Thor to be resurrected to help to combat the demon. One thing's for sure - he's going to be awesome, both in appearance and power.
