8 Hopelessly Tangled Movie Continuities

1. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Series

The Texas Chainsaw Massacres continuity is so !*$% messy it needs a new mathematical formula to sort it out. The first sequel was more or less a direct follow-up, but part three completely ignores it and seems to act as an alternative sequel to the original.

Part four titled The Next Generation ignores parts two and three, and again only acknowledges the first movie. This one is notable for having early starring roles for Renee Zellweger and Matthew McConaughey, who apparently tried to suppress it once their careers took off.

Then Michael Bay produced a glossy Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake in 2003, and a prequel for it in 2006. Then (this is getting exhausting) Texas Chainsaw 3D acts as a direct sequel to the original only, ignoring every subsequent film.

Just to add to the confusion another prequel is coming, which will apparently only count the original film as canon.

What other film series completely (and literally) lost the plot? Let us know down the comments.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
