8 Horror Movies That Tricked You Into Rooting For The Villain

My Bloody Valentine 3D (Or MBV3D if you're one of those cool horror fans) has a twist that isn't exactly a huge surprise, but it's still effective in making us question who we've been championing throughout the story.

Set decades after an insane miner went on a killing spree in a small town, people once again start showing up dead. The big question is: is it the original killer back for more, or a copycat attempting to take up the mantle?

We experience most of this through the eyes of Tom, who has returned to the town coincidentally just as the murders start recurring. Despite that, we assume he's the good guy. After all, he's Dean from Supernatural; he's a man we can trust, right?

Well, despite he and the miner being in the same scenes together and the miner even attacking old Tom, it's eventually revealed the two are one and the same, and Ackles' character has been essentially chasing down himself.

What makes this particularly tricky is that, despite being a remake, the filmmakers actually shake up the killers in both movies. Consequently, if you've seen the original and are expecting it to play out the same way, you'll be surprised when this other character is actually revealed to be the villain.
