8 Insane Marvel Phase 3 Rumours You Need To See To Believe

5. The Big Three Won't Be In Avengers: Infinity War

This one might be hard to digest, but don't expect to see Earth's Mightiest Heroes assemble in the first part of Avengers: Infinity War. Oh, they'll be there for Part Two, but the big three - Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor - are all going to be taken off the board initially if rumours from sites like Birth.Movies.Death (formerly Badass Digest) and Latino-Review are to be believed. Captain America's fate is unclear, though it's thought that he may be in prison or dead following the events of Captain America: Civil War when this war with Thanos kicks off. However, it's then that he'll make some sort of triumphant return, likely rallying The Avengers with that famous battle cry which we've yet to hear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Iron Man's status also isn't very clear. Him being in outer space is the main rumour/theory doing the rounds, though why he'd head there hasn't been revealed. It could be that he goes looking for Thor and the Hulk. They're going on what's been described as a cosmic road trip in Thor: Ragnarok, and it's been said for a long time now that Thor is going to be held captive in some sort of galactic prison (quite possibly after coming into contact with Thanos as that villain sets his sights on Asgard and the Infinity Stone being held there). Marvel making Avengers: Infinity War all about the new additions to their Cinematic Universe in Phase 3 would be no bad thing, and saving this iconic trio for the sure to be even bigger second part would be pretty cool. Plus, it's not like Part One won't be stacked full of big names, especially if the Guardians of the Galaxy end up taking on a major role in the story (and yes, in case you're wondering, rumours say that is indeed the case).
