8 Insanely Dangerous Film Shoots That Nearly Killed Their Stars

7. Morgan Spurlock Proves His Point (And Them Some) - Super Size Me

Morgan Spurlock€™s documentary on the dangers of fast food saw him eat nothing but McDonald€™s for 30 days. The results aren€™t pretty. He set a number of rules for himself on this radical diet: no outside food, he had to eat every item on the McDonald€™s menu at least once and that if he was offered the €œSuper Size€ meal option he had to take it. Spurlock soon went from a man in good health to a chubby guy who suffered from headaches, depression and sexual dysfunction. He saw a number of physicians during the making of the doc, and even they were shocked by the changes the diet had on his body. Three weeks in Spurlock started having heart palpations and his doctor recommended he quit immediately before he did irreversible damage to his body. In other words: stop now before you eat yourself to death. He bravely decided to keep going, and at the end of the 30 days he€™d gained 25 pounds and suffered numerous health problems. It took him over a year to lose that weight, and one time he described going into a sauna only to discover his sweat smelled like McDonald€™s food. Shortly after the documentary was released McDonald's discontinued the Super Size option. They claim the doc had no part in that decision.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
