8 Marvel Actors Who Were Cast In The Wrong Parts
5. James Badge Dale
Iron Man 3 is maybe the most divisive film in the MCU, with some fans feeling it's one of the best solo outings to date and others hating it solely for The Mandarin twist. Like it or lump it, people have to admit James Badge Dale was pretty great in the role of cocky henchman Savin.
Savin is a ruthless, gum chewing mercenary who destroys Tony Starks home and torments him throughout the story. Dale brings a real charisma and a perverse likability to the role, despite being a villain through and through. Unfortunately, he's only ever a henchman, so his chance to shine is limited and it's ultimately a shame when he takes a fatal blast to the chest.
Who He Should Have Played Instead: Bucky/The Winter Soldier
Dale would have been a great choice for Bucky Barnes, which would have allowed him to play both the warmth of the friendship between Barnes and Rogers, and then the Terminator-like quality of The Winter Soldier. Sebastian Stan is alright in the part, but Dale is on another level entirely, and he would have particularly sold the villainous side of the character.
